Images from the “Back Doon the Watter” project were combined with a seaside soundtrack and the resulting five minute film was taken on tour around many of the destinations associated with going Doon the Watter.
The intention was to bring the show to the people, so it didn’t only have a life in the rarefied atmosphere of the gallery.
It was a joy to meet, and share the work with, so many people.
Brodick: The van was lined and enclosed with with black material to create a mobile cinema experience…

Irvine: Inside the van were a screen, projector and power source…

Saltcoats: Bluetooth headphones allowed two people at a time to view the film and hear the soundtrack.

Tighnabruaich: A special trip to meet the Waverley, as a small thank you to the crew and shore staff who allowed us to shoot and record on board.

Largs: not everyone gave their full attention…
The full exhibition will run from 1st September to 28th October, at the Garrison House, Millport. Images captured over a two year period reflect the special relationship between Clydesiders and the coast.
