Saturday was the opening of Street Level Photoworks’ latest exhibition, made up of several bodies of work, including my project “A Celebration” from 2010, and the update, titled “Merchants of the Empire’s Second City”.

Also showing as part of “Glasgow; The Scene From Within” are works by Gerry D’Ambrosio, Keith Ingham and Malcolm Hill; Simultaneously, there is an exhibition of the work of the Cranhill Arts group.

It was great to see a couple of the subjects of my portraits who came along.

Rhonda, owner and proprietor of LBL Bazaar

Bryce, owner and proprietor of the hardware and homeware store. In a wonderful piece of unexpected synchronicity, Bryce discovered his Dad in one of the photographs in the Cranhill Arts portion of the exhibition.
Bryce’s is the main voice in the film I made to give voice to some of the subjects of the project…
