About

I’m a documentary photographer from the west coast of Scotland, finding ways to tell the stories that matter to me…

As a photographer I seek to understand how we share our environment, and the structures we create, both physical and mental, in order to coexist.

I aim to create a narrative that makes sense of my world, for me; that goes some way towards answering the questions I have.

In my interactions, such as with Glasgow’s Polish community, or the users of a Partick Bingo Hall, I try to take the opportunity to observe both what is familiar and what is often unconsciously hidden about the people around us. I feel that my portraiture (for example in the piece “A Celebration”) provides a simple, yet searching, viewpoint from which to engage with our neighbours.

I grew up in Glasgow, moving to West Kilbride with my two children in 2009.
